Public Affairs Operational Tools

Effective 3/16/2017 - Public Affairs Quartely Reports are discontinued.

From MDWG enewsletter dated 16MAR2017: The Maryland Wing public affairs team has rescinded the MDWG supplement
to CAPR 190-1 Civil Air Patrol Public Affairs Program, which required quarterly public affairs reports from each unit.  The quarterly reports are not longer required.  Units must still comply with CAPR 190-1, including the requirement to submit an annual public affairs plan to wing headquarters in the first quarter of each year.

  • Public Affairs Annual Plan:  All squadron, wing, and region PAOs are required to create an annual public affairs plan for their area of responsibility.  The unit's public affairs plan is due to MDWG PAO by 10JAN of each year. These plans provide the PAO an opportunity to realistically look at their unit's strengths and weaknesses, create objectives and goals, and assess how these goals are being met.  CAP NHQ provides a guide for How to write a public affairs plan.
